Northumberland OPP have made an arrest as part of an investigation into a series of break and enter crimes.
Between May 21 and 27, police received a number of break and enter reports from businesses in the Township of Hamilton and the Municipality of Brighton.
The majority of these incidents occurred in the morning of May 21, around the area of Bewdley.
The Peterborough/Northumberland OPP Community Street Crime Unit began an investigation. A suspect was identified, and a warrant was issued. On Tuesday, officers arrested the suspect.
A 41-year-old Belleville man, Allan Laidley, has been charged with five counts each of breaking and entering, posessing break-in tools, and disguise with intent to commit crimes.
The accused was held to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg.
