Breach of Probation
On October 23, 2024 at 3:21 p.m., Belleville police received information that a 27-year-old Belleville woman was currently breaching conditions of her probation order that stemmed from domestic-related charges. Police conducted an investigation and confirmed the allegations. As a result, police arrested and charged the Belleville woman. She was later released on an undertaking with conditions and a December court date. Police will not be releasing the name of the accused in an effort to protect the identity of the victim as the original charges relate to a domestic incident.
Family dispute leads to arrest and charges
On October 23, 2024 at 4:17 p.m., Belleville police attended a residence in the city’s east end regarding a family dispute. Upon their arrival, police spoke to the complainant and learned that she had been physically assaulted by her son and that he had uttered threats of bodily harm towards her. The 32-year-old son had fled the residence prior to police arrival. There were no reported injuries. Police continued the investigation. Later in the day, the suspect attended the Belleville Police Service and turned himself in. He was arrested and charged with assault and uttering threats. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
