The Belleville YMCA Centre for Life has received another generous donation towards the new facility to be built in the city’s west end.
Amer Sports is contributing $250,000 to the Centre for Life Community Building Campaign.
YMCA CEO and President David Allen, and Centre for Life Campaign Co-Chairs Ed Lehtinen and Kristin Crowe, joined Amer’s Kai Bahlmann, VP Warehousing, Global and Ryan Wuerz, Director of Warehousing, North America Monday afternoon at Amer Sports College Street facility for the announcement.
In response to the donation, the fitness studio at the new Y will be named the Amer Sports Fitness Studio.
The new $27.5 million YMCA will be built on the site of the city’s old fairgrounds on Bridge Street West.
Once construction is complete, the Centre for Life will have two pools (lap and therapy), a whirlpool, a gymnasium, conditioning centre, universal change room, aerobics/exercise studios, multi-purpose/community meeting rooms, lounge and social areas, Kids Kare and a children’s treehouse.
The Centre for Life Community Building Campaign has raised more than $6 million of its $9 million goal.
