Quinte West’s Planning Advisory Committee has given a thumbs down to a proposed housing development along the bayshore, east of Bayside.
Property owner Arnold MacLauchlan had proposed to build 29 houses on large lots and on municipal water and septic systems at 1436 to 1476 Old Highway 2.
Residents near the property had several concerns with the plan, including environmental, traffic, and that it would only be on partial services and didn’t fit in with the existing neighborhood.
Planning staff recommended denying the application saying it didn’t meet requirements of the Provincial Planning Statement.
Quinte West council will have the final say on the matter.
