City staff at the City of Quinte West are being requested to implement recommendations from a Waste and Recycling Audit of city facilities.
Quinte West City Council approved the resolution at its meeting on Wednesday.
Among the city facilities audited included city hall, the marina, the Ontario Provincial Police building, Fire Station One, the operations building, and the Duncan McDonald Arena.
The recommendations laid out in a report to council lists the following:
- Develop a standardized waste diversion message and communications focused upon clean simple graphics
- Develop standardized waste and recycling centralized station
- Complete a cost review for above locations to determine potential cost savings
- Complete waste audit and waste reduction plan to determine benchmark
It also called for consideration to discuss a partnership with Loyalist College to develop a waste audit process completed by students.
