Police have laid drug charges against a Kingston resident after a traffic stop in Tyendinaga Township Saturday night.
Lennox & Addington OPP were conducting stationary traffic enforcement on the Marysville Road Highway 401 on-ramp just before 8 p.m. when officers observed a vehicle with a burnt-out tail light drive by, Â attempting to merge onto Highway 401 west.
Police stopped the vehicle on Highway 401 and observed cannabis in the vehicle.
A search revealed one gram of suspected cannabis, two grams of suspected hash, one gram of suspected cocaine, 33 grams of suspected psilocybin mushrooms, and $11,000 in cash.
The driver, 48-year-old Wayne Leslie was arrested and charged with:
Possession of a Schedule III substance for the purpose of trafficking
Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Cocaine
Possession property obtained by crime over $5,000
Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court in Napanee November 26.
