The Special Investigations Unit has concluded their investigation into the death of a man in Tyendinaga Township earlier this year.
On June 15, a 66-year-old man shot himself while officers from the OPP were conducting a wellness check in the village of Read.
Officers had arrived at the man’s home, after being advised by a friend that he was suicidal and had access to guns.
Before police could make contact with the man, they heard a shot, and later found the man with a fatal gunshot wound.
The SIU investigated due to a death occurring during a police action.
They found there were no grounds to charge any of the responding officers with any crime.
