Quinte Conservation (QC) has announced a new Woodland Wellness partnership with Loyalist College’s Recreation, Sport, and Leisure program. Four more events have been added to the series which includes two free outdoor events for the public and two free outdoor education programs for students.
The activities offer an opportunity to connect with nature and improve well-being through activities designed to nurture both body and mind.
The two new public events are:
• Whimsical Wilderness Games: Kids ages three to seven are invited to participate in an exciting one hour-long outdoor program that includes a risky play obstacle course and a game of squirrel and nut. This event is free and includes parking. Registration is required and will take place on Friday, October 11 at South Potter’s Creek Conservation Area from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
• Forest Flow: Join a relaxing one hour-long outdoor music and motion program filled with gentle movements and stretches, accompanied by the calming sounds of instrumental music. Open to seniors 60+, this event is free and includes parking. Registration is required and will take place on Friday, November 1 at South Potter’s Creek Conservation Area from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Outdoor education programs that are not open to the public include an ecosystem scavenger hunt and a geocaching workshop.
