500 players, along with coaches, parents, volunteers, and fans gathered at Centennial Park in Quinte West on Wednesday for the opening ceremonies for the 2024 U15 Toyota National Soccer Championships
Dignitaries spoke on Field 3 to the players from every province and even the Northwest Territories.
Peter Augruso is the President of Canada Soccer.
“I want to welcome you to Quinte and I want to thank Quinte for hosting this event. So is there somebody amongst you that we’re going to see playing for the national team?”
Quinte West Mayor Jim Harrison.
“You have worked hard to get here. You have put everything in to being the best soccer player you can possibly be and I wish each and every one of you success in this tournament.”

“I think I speak for all of us when I say that we are inspired by the dedication and the commitment you’ve all put in, to develop your skills and to your craft. We are backing that commitment through the Ontario Sports Hosting Grant with $42,000.”
Games are going to go on until Thanksgiving Monday.
