Arrested on Warrant
On October 4, 2024 at 10:32 p.m., Belleville police responded to a disturbance call at Riverside Park. Upon arrival, police spoke to the involved parties. During their investigation, police learned that one of the parties was wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant for uttering threats and breach of probation. As a result, police arrested 29-year-old Joseph McDonald of no fixed address on the strength of the warrant. He was held for a bail hearing.
Arrested on Warrant
On October 5, 2024 at 7:18 a.m., Lennox and Addington OPP members located a male wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant held by the Belleville Police Service. The warrant was for failing to comply with a release order. Roger Reid, 41 years old of no fixed address was turned over to the Belleville Police Service. He was held for a bail hearing.
Traffic stop leads to arrest
On October 6, 2024 at 3:30 p.m., a Belleville police officer was on patrol on Moira Street East when they observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation. The officer stopped the vehicle and while speaking to the driver, the officer observed a female passenger who was known to the officer and the subject of an outstanding arrest warrant. During the investigation, the officer further learned that the female committed a theft from a local business on October 2, 2024 and officers had been looking for the female. As a result, the 34-year-old female of no fixed address was arrested and charged with one count of theft under $5000. She was also arrested on the strength of the outstanding arrest warrant for failing to comply with a court order and five counts of failing to comply with a probation order. She was held for a bail hearing.
Stolen ATV recovered in Belleville
On October 6, 2024 at 4:24 p.m., a resident in the city’s east end contacted the Belleville Police Service to report an ATV that appeared to be abandoned. Police attended and learned that the ATV had been reported stolen on October 5 to the Lennox and Addington OPP. Belleville police contacted the ATV owner who attended and retrieved the ATV. Police are continuing the investigation.
Breach of Court Order
On October 6, 2024 at 10:21 p.m., Belleville police were dispatched to a residence in the city’s west end concerning a male who was on conditions not to be in the area or have communications with a tenant at the residence. Police attended and quickly located the male. Police confirmed the family court-ordered conditions. As a result, police arrested and charged a 36-year-old male of no fixed address with breaching a court order. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
