Friday was a busy day for MPP David Piccini, who attended a pair of events to showcase the impact of provincial funding grants in the community.
The MPP for the Northumberland-Peterborough South riding was at the grand reopening of Gathering Place in Warkworth, in support of a series of accessability upgrades for the community centre. The upgrades were paid for with a $64,600 capital grant from the provincial government’s Ontario Trillium Foundation.
“Ontario recognizes the importance of community hubs like The Gathering Place, especially in growing rural areas,” said MPP Piccini. “This investment has supported exceptional renovations which make The Gathering Place a safer and more welcoming location that meets the expectations of this community.”
Piccini also attended the Campbellford and District Curling and Racquet Club for the opening of a brand new fully accessible washroom. The new restroom was made possible by a previous grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
The Campbellford & District Curling and Racquet Club has recieved $207,800 in Trillium Foundation funding since 2021.
