The City of Quinte West is alerting residents of power outages, road closures and lane closures scheduled for October 27.
Hydro One crews will be replacing poles and installing new switches.
To complete this work, the city says a power outage is needed from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. as equipment must be deenergized for crews to work safely.
This will affect customers east of the Trent River in Trenton ward.
Some have already been notified by an automated phone call.
Power will stay in the following locations in the area:
- Addresses located on Monogram Place
- Addresses located on Douglas Road
- The North Murray Industrial Park
As part of the work, the following road closures will take place from 6 a.m to 2 p.m. that day.
- Bay Street between Byron Street and Campbell Street
- Dixon Street between Byron Street and Stella Crescent
Single lane closures will take effect at the same time at the following locations:
- Sidney Street from Creelman Avenue to 371 Sidney St.
- Hamilton Road from Gregory Road to 2396 Hamilton Rd.
Those in the affected area are asked to turn off all appliances and ensure cell phones are fully charged before the outage.
Residents are also asked to keep their refrigerator and freezer doors closed for as long as possible to avoid spoilage.
Traffic signals may be unavailable in the affected area.
If a traffic signal is without power, use the intersection the same way you would use an intersection with all-way stop signs.
