Lennox & Addington OPP arrested a male who fled from police after an attempted traffic stop Monday morning.
An officer conducting patrol on Highway 401 in Loyalist Township around 9 a.m. encountered a suspicious vehicle headed eastb and learned it had been stolen from Thornhill.
Police followed and attempted to stop it on Sharpe Road, however, the driver fled.
The vehicle was located a short distance away where the driver had fled on foot.
Members of the Emergency Response Team and the canine unit searched the area.
The suspect was located and arrested later that afternoon following calls from the public about a suspicious male walking around the area. Mamadou Ly, age 23, of Granby, Quebec is charged with theft of motor vehicle and flight from police.
The accused was held for a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee at later date.
