While many people would rather not think about it, cold winter weather will be here soon.
And Quinte West’s professional firefighters have launched their 33rd Quinte West Coats for Kids program.
Coats for Kids collects and distributes gently-used children’s outerwear to individuals and families in need.
Donations of coats, toques, mitts and other outerwear can be dropped off at Quinte West Fire headquarters in Trenton. Cash donations will also be accepted.
Last year over 400 coats were distributed.
If you know a child in need of a winter coat or outerwear, please contact Quinte West Fire and Emergency Services at 613-392-6557 to book a pickup appointment.
Coats and outerwear will be distributed to Quinte West residents with children aged 17 and under by appointment only. Proof of identification for the parent/guardian upon pick-up is required. Parents and guardians are encouraged to bring their child(ren) to ensure proper sizing.
