Arrested on Warrant
On September 20, 2024 at 12:22 p.m., a Belleville police officer, while on patrol, observed a male in the area of North Front St and King George Square who was wanted for a recent assault and uttering death threats that occurred on September 12, 2024. The suspect fled on foot in an attempt to evade police, however, he was arrested nearby a short time later. The accused, 43-year-old Tyler Branscombe of no fixed address was arrested on the strength of his outstanding warrant and held for a bail hearing. Police are still looking to speak to a second victim that was assaulted near Belleville Library on the evening of September 12, 2024. Arrested on Warrant
On September 20, 2024 at 7:52 p.m., Belleville police were called to the Bridge St bridge for a male climbing the arches. Officers arrived on scene and identified the 18-year-old male who was wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant for weapons dangerous x 2, assault with a weapon x 2 and fail to comply with an undertaking. The 18-year-old of no fixed address was arrested on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing. Police will not be releasing the name of the accused as the charges relate to a domestic incident.
Arrested on Warrant
On September 21, 2024 at 4 a.m., Belleville police received custody of a male from the Ontario Provincial Police whom they had arrested on the strength of an arrest warrant held by the Belleville Police Service. The warrant was for Breach of Probation. Nicholas O’Doherty, 45 years old of Frontenac County was held for a bail hearing.
Assault
On September 22, 2024 at 8 p.m., Belleville police responded to a residence in the city’s east end after receiving reports of a domestic dispute taking place. When police arrived, they located a female victim outside the residence. Police spoke to the involved parties. Police learned that during the domestic dispute, the female had been physically assaulted by her male partner and then thrown out of the residence. As a result of the investigation, police arrested a 44-year-old Belleville man for assault. He was held for a bail hearing.

Traffic stop leads to drug related charges
On September 22, 2024 at 6:30 p.m., Belleville police received a call regarding an erratic driver on North Front St. Police located and stopped the vehicle on Pinnacle St. and learned that the driver was suspended. He was placed under arrest. During the subsequent search of the driver, police located a small quantity of cocaine. The investigation led to the arrest of the passenger who was found to be in possession of a larger quantity of cocaine and a prohibited weapon. As a result of the police investigation, the 30-year-old driver of Frankford was charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, impaired driving by drug and driving while suspended. The passenger, a 15-year-old Bowmanville resident was charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a prohibited weapon and breaching a conditional release order. Both accused were held in custody for a bail hearing.
Driver charged with over 80
On September 22, 2024 at 9:51 p.m., Belleville police stopped a vehicle on Tracey St. While speaking to the driver, police detected the odour of an alcoholic beverage on the driver’s breath. Police administered an Approved Screening Device and the driver was subsequently arrested. The driver was transported to the Belleville Police Service for further testing. As a result, 27-year-old Aakash Soni of Belleville was charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80 plus. He was released on an undertaking with a court date in October.
