Belleville police were led on a short foot pursuit before arresting a break and enter suspect Thursday morning.
Officers responded to the east end just before 9 a.m. where a male was reportedly trying to break into a residence.
Upon arrival, police located and identified the suspect and learned there was an outstanding warrant for his arrest.
The male fled when officers attempted to arrest him but was quickly apprehended.
The 35-year-old Belleville man was charged with one count of theft under $5000 and resisting arrest.
The accused was held for a court appearance Friday.
