Just call their latest South Hastings Baseball championship “Rocky’s 5.”
There was no Sylvester Stallone in this one but the story line stands.
Five straight championships and six in the last seven seasons for the Bain Excavating Rockies and this one was a cakewalk.
It was a decisive 14-1 win over the Read McGuinness Water Solutions Young Guns and a four-game sweep.
The Rockies outscored the Young Guns 46-8 in the series.
League MVP A.J. Burlington homered and drove in four. Alex Mahar went deep and drove in three and Joe Blakely went the distance striking out ten.
The Bob Reid Trophy for Playoff MVP was awarded to Lucas Gilbert.
