Traffic complaints led to the arrest of a 26-year-old driver on several charges in the east end of Belleville Friday morning.
Several witnesses called police around 9 a.m. after a Nissan Sentra was observed driving erratically in a construction site, striking garbage cans and an excavator.
Witnesses helped police locate the vehicle in the area of Dundas Street East and Haig Road.
The driver, Hirdaypal Singh of Belleville, was arrested and charged with dangerous driving, impaired operation of a motor vehicle, refusing to provide a breath sample and utter threats, fail to remain at the scene of an accident, unlawfully drive in a construction zone and improperly displayed plate.
Singh was released on an undertaking with a court date in October.
