The Belleville Downtown District BIA has announced the appointment of Yona Harvey as its new public relations and membership coordinator.
Funding for the position was made available through a successful grant application to the province’s RED (Rural Economic Development) program.
In a release, the BIA says Harvey has a journalism background and recently worked as the Visitor Services Coordinator at the Belleville Chamber of Commerce.
She is credited with developing and curating the Discover Belleville tourist guide, website and social media, as well as helping with various city-wide events.
“Our project would not have been possible without the generous support of the provincial government and we extend our deepest thanks for their commitment to rural community revitalization,” said Danielle Hanoman, Executive Director, Belleville Downtown District BIA.
“This is just the beginning of a renewed chapter for downtown Belleville, and I am confident that together, we will create a vibrant and thriving community that we can all be proud of.”
