Police say a child was in the back seat of a vehicle stopped for suspected impaired driving in Campbellford on Wednesday.
Northumberland OPP responded to a complaint about a possible impaired driver on Grand Road around 11:50 p.m.
The vehicle was located on County Road 30.
During the traffic stop, a five-year-old child was observed in the rear of the vehicle.
Investigation resulted in the driver, a 28-year-old female from Havelock, being charged with two counts of impaired driving.
The individual is not being named to protect the identity of the child.
The accused also received a 90-day licence suspension and her vehicle was impounded for seven days.
