Quinte Waste Solutions Hazardous and Electronic Waste Depot on Wallbridge Crescent in Belleville will be temporarily closed starting on September 17.
The closure is necessary to install a new canopy over the Coverall.
The installation will not affect the City of Belleville’s Leaf and Yard Waste Drop-Off at the same address which will remain open.
During the closure, residents are encouraged to hold onto their hazardous and electronic waste until the depot reopens.
Alana Bancroft, Program Manager for the Hazardous and Electronic Waste Program, says the current cover has reached the end of its lifespan and the installation of the new canopy is a significant upgrade that will improve the overall functionality and visibility of the site.
The operations at the Material Recovery Facility in Quinte West will not be affected. Residents may still bring their electronic waste to 270 West Street, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Please note that hazardous waste is not accepted at the Quinte West facility.
Updates regarding the reopening of the facility will be provided on the Quinte Waste Solutions website and through their social media channels
