A Kingston man is facing a long list of charges after attempting to flee from police.
Officers from Northumberland OPP were doing speed enforcement with a radar gun on Highway 401 in Brighton on Sunday when a pickup truck passed them moving at 150 km/h in an area with a limit of 110.
Police stopped the vehicle, but after they requested the driver’s ID, he instead attempted to drive off and went down the highway at speed.
After an investigation, police arrested 33-year-old Alexander Dumouchel on Thursday. He was charged with fleeing a peace officer, stunt driving, failure to identify himself, failure to surrender insurance card, and failure to produce permit.
His licence was suspended for 30 days and the accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg at a future date.
