Like most other areas, building activity in the Municipality of Brighton remains lower this year compared to 2023.
Thirteen permits with a construction value of $1.7 million were issued in August, down from 23 permits worth $3.9 million during the same month last year.
The year-to-date numbers show 118 permits worth $29.9 million were issued over the first eight months of 2024.
In 2023 there were only 123 permits through the end of August but the construction value is more than double this year’s at $64.2 million.
