On September 3, 2024 at 9:35 a.m., police were called to a business on Bell Blvd for a report that a male was uttering threats to blow up his ex-girlfriend who was an employee and working at the business.
Police attended and confronted the male. The male jumped on his bike and attempted to evade police, however, he was apprehended without further incident a short distance away.
Police spoke to the involved female and learned that the same male had physically assaulted her earlier in the day. As a result of the police investigation, a 43-year-old male from Belleville was charged with assault and uttering threats to cause death.
He was released on an undertaking with a court date in October. The name of the accused will not be released in order to protect the identity of the victim.
