It’s a good thing the South Hastings Baseball League doesn’t use a designated hitter because for the second night in a row the guy on the mound also provided the winning hit at the plate.
Keaton Sarasas pitched a complete Game 4 hitter and smashed the game, winning two run home runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to give the Read McGuiness Water Solutions Young Guns a 3-1 win over Uens Pole Line.
The Young Guns take a 2-1 lead in the best-of-five semi-final. Game 4 is Thursday night at 7 p.m. in Melrose.
On Monday night it was Mike Shortt with the complete game and the deciding home run in Maclans’ win over Bains.
That series is also tied 1-1 with Game 3 tonight (Wed) at 7 o’clock in Melrose.
