Northumberland OPP has released more details about a collision that shut down the westbound Highway 401 in the Brighton area for several hours on Labour Day.
Police, the Brighton Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services responded to a collision involving a tractor trailer and vehicle Monday morning.
The driver of the tractor trailer was uninjured however two occupants of the passenger vehicle were transported to a local hospital with life-threatening and life-altering injuries.
One westbound lane was closed followed by a complete closure from about 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. as OPP Traffic Collision Investigation (TCI) members attended to assist with the incident.
Police ask anyone who may witnessed the incident or has video/dash camera footage of the collision, and has not spoken to officers, to contact Northumberland OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Occurrence Ref: E241173957
