The Wellington Dukes were defeated in back-to-back pre-season games on Saturday.
In their first game, the Buffalo Jr. Sabres slipped past the Dukes 3-2.
Ben Pouliot and Ronan McFarlane scored for the Dukes.
The Sabres opened scoring early in the first, with the Dukes evening the score later in the period. An unanswered goal in the second game gave the Sabres the lead, and while the Dukes scored late in the third to tie the game, the Sabres slipped ahead again to take the win.
In their second game, the Aurora Tigers beat the Dukes 6-4.
Tyler Tsoulakas, Zachary Carrier, Ethan Murray, and Ryan Schaap scored for the Dukes.
The Dukes opened scoring after just five minutes, but a pair of back-to-back goals from the Tigers gave them the lead going into the second. Both teams scored once in the second period, keeping a slight lead for the Tigers going into the third. While the Dukes got an early third period goal, a string of three goals from the Tigers built up a lead that a last, late goal by the Dukes couldn’t overcome, handing the Tigers the win.
