Northumberland OPP are asking for the public’s assistance with a sexual assault investigation.
The Crime Unit is investigating a sexual assault that is reported to have taken place in the area of Johnston Road South and Beavermeadow Road in Hamilton Township from August 11 to August 12.
Police are not releasing any further details at this time but ask anyone who was in the area during that time and saw anything suspicious or has any information that may assist investigators to call Northumberland OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
The OPP are reminding the public to always use caution and be aware of their surroundings and personal safety.
You can report a sexual offence to police no matter how long ago it happened and someone can be charged for sexual assault.
