Northumberland OPP have charged a St. Catharines man in connection with a fraud investigation in Brighton.
OPP began an investigation on June 30, 2023 after the owner of a residential property on Old Wooler Road reported that they had paid a contractor $30,000 in October 2022 but the work was never completed.
The whereabouts of the contractor were unknown and after efforts to resolve the situation, the victim called police.
A person was identified and a warrant was sought for their arrest.
On Wednesday police arrested 20-year-old Zachary Edwards, charging him with fraud over $5,000.
The accused is due to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg at a future date.
