The Hastings County Planning and Development Committee has approved a recommendation to establish a temporary Economic Development Working Group.
It also approved a recommendation to have the warden appoint up to five county council members to participate in the group.
According to the recommendation, the group will look to prepare an investment attraction plan and identify industries that would be a strong fit for Hastings County.
The working group would then put together a final report with recommendations and deliverables for the Planning and Development Committee to review.
A final report would be submitted by March 2025.
The recommendation will be brought to Hastings County Council at a future meeting.
