The Hastings County Planning and Development Committee approved a recommendation to ratify a letter of support for GT Racing Experience at its meeting on Thursday.
GT Racing Experience had relocated from British Columbia to the Shannonville Motorsport Park in Tyendinaga Township and were looking to apply to RTO 9’s Partnership Fund initiative.
The group reached out to the County asking for a support letter to help improve their application.
GT Racing Experience is hoping to use the $15,000 in matching funds from RTO 9 to help increase their outreach, allow mall displays and employ additional contractors over the Christmas season in the hopes of increasing business.
Hastings County Council will look at the recommendation at a future meeting.
