Northumberland OPP have arrested a pair of impaired drivers in two unrelated incidents.
On Tuesday, just after noon, an officer was on patrol on Bridge Street South in Trent Hills when they conducted a traffic stop. The officer began an impaired driving investigation which resulted in the driver being arrested and taken to a local detachment for further tests.
Barbara Lagace, 59 years old from Pickering, has been charged with operation while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration of 80 plus.
Her vehicle was impounded for seven days, and her driver’s licence suspended for 90.
In a second incident on Wednesday at 4 p.m., police responded to a complaint about a vehicle moving west on Hwy 401. After stopping the vehicle in Hamilton, police spoke to the driver, and used a screening device. The driver was arrested after the screening, and taken to a local detachment.
Joseph Lattone-Miller, 26 years old from Bowmanville, has been charged with operation while impaired with a blood alcohol level over 80, operation while prohibited, and operating a commercial vehicle without a licence.
His vehicle was impounded for 45 days, and driver’s licence suspended for 90 days.
Both individuals will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg at a future date.
