Prince Edward County OPP have charged a driver with impaired operation.
Officers were conducting a RIDE program on Highway 62 in Prince Edward County around 3 a.m. on Monday.
Police spoke with a driver and further investigation led to an approved screening device being used.
The driver was arrested and taken to detachment for further testing.
Thirty-nine-year-old James Whalen of Belleville was charged with the following:
- Operation while impaired
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration
The driver was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on September 11, 2024.
They also had his driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and vehicle impounded for seven days.
