Break, Enter and Theft
On the 19th of August at 7:00am, a business on Highway 62 reported to the Belleville Police Service that sometime overnight unknown suspects entered the business and stole a quantity of merchandise. Members of the Forensic Identification Section attended to process the scene and the investigation is being continued by the Criminal Investigation Division.
Assault
On the 19th of August at 7:36am, Belleville Police attended a residence in the city’s west end after receiving a report of a domestic assault. Upon their arrival, police spoke to the victim and learned that she had been struck in the face by her partner. The victim did not require medical attention. As a result of the investigation, a 37-year-old Belleville man was arrested and charged with assault. He was released on an Undertaking with a court date in September 2024. The name of the accused is not being released in order to protect the identity of the victim.
Assault and Uttering Threats
On the 19th of August at 4:06pm, Belleville Police responded to a report of a domestic dispute at a residence in the city’s east end. Upon arrival, police learned that the victim returned home to find his ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend inside the victim’s home waiting for him. An argument ensued and the female suspect physically assaulted and began uttering threats towards the victim. The victim did not require medical attention. The suspect departed the residence prior to police arrival. Police continued the investigation. On the 20th of August at 12:35am, Belleville Police located the female suspect at a restaurant on North Front St and arrested her without incident. The 41-year-old female from Quinte West was charged with assault and uttering threats. She was released on an Undertaking with a court date in September. The name of the accused is not being released in order to protect the identity of the victim.

Mischief
On the 19th of August at 8:57pm, Belleville Police were called to a residence in the city’s east end regarding a mischief to property call. The investigation revealed that an unwanted person had smashed a window at the residence. As a result, 50-year-old Michael Armstrong of no fixed address was arrested and charged with mischief. He was released on an Undertaking with a court date in September.
