The Correctional Service of Canada reports an inmate from Millhaven’s Regional Treatment Centre died while in its custody on August 10.
The individual’s name is not being released to comply with a court-ordered publication ban.
At the time of death, the inmate had been serving an indeterminate sentence, which commenced March 18, 2005, for sexual assault, sexual interference of persons under the age of 14, assault with a weapon, and failure to comply with a probation order.
The inmate’s next of kin have been notified.
As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) will review the circumstances.
