Central Hastings OPP are urging residents of the Tweed area to check their vehicles for any missing items.
Officers received a report of a suspicious person in the Stoco Road area just after 12 a.m. on Tuesday.
An individual matching the description of the prowler was located and arrested.
A search located numerous items which appeared to have been taken from multiple vehicles, including pairs of sunglasses, colognes, cosmetics and cell phone chargers.
An OPP cruiser was damaged during the arrest.
Allan Laidley, 41, of Belleville is charged with:
Mischief
Trespassing at night
Theft under $5000 from a vehicle
Possession of property obtained by crime.
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville.
Anyone in the Tweed area who believes they may be missing items from their vehicles should contact Central Hastings OPP.
