OPP laid several charges against a 40-year-old man after responding to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the Greater Napanee area.
Lennox and Addington officers were dispatched to Oliver Side Road near County Road 1 West around 4 a.m. on Tuesday where a vehicle had been parked in a live lane, running for an extended period of time.
Officers spoke to the driver of the vehicle who was subsequently arrested and transported to detachment for further testing.
As part of the investigation, a Drug Recognition Expert officer was utilized.
Further investigation revealed the vehicle was stolen.
A baton and methamphetamine were also seized.
Michael Lessard of Napanee was charged with:
Operation while impaired – drugs
Dangerous operation
Operation while prohibited under the criminal code – 17 counts
Possession of prohibited device or ammunition for dangerous purpose
Possession of a schedule I substance – methamphetamine
Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
Driving while under suspension
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing
