The Trenton Golden Hawks have announced a trade to acquire some new defensive talent.
The Golden Hawks have secured Candon O’Neill from the Soo Thunderbirds to join the team in the upcoming season in a trade deal.
The deal offered a Player Development Fee in exchange for the young player’s contract.
“We are excited about adding Candon to our program. He is a competitor that plays both sides of the puck and we look forward to helping Candon get to the next level,” says Golden Hawks Coach and General Manager Derek Smith.
O’Neill is from Sault Ste Marie, ON where he played AAA for his minor hockey years. Last year he played with the Soo Thunderbirds of the NOJHL, where he played 39 games with a record of 5 G, 26 A, & 14PIM.
