Members of Quinte West council opened their regular meeting Wednesday with a moment of silence in honour of two local community leaders who passed away recently.
Both former councillor from Frankford ward Keith Reid and former Murray Township Reeve and Northumberland County Warden Brenda Weese were described as hard-working community-minded politicians.
Later in the meeting former Trenton Police Service and Quinte West OPP officer Randy Blakely was also recognized for his exemplary service.
Blakely also passed away recently.
