Northumberland OPP have charged a Hamilton man after two police cruisers were damaged by a stolen vehicle.
On the afternoon of July 10, officers on Front Street in Hastings were alerted to a stolen pickup truck through Automated Licence Plate Recognition.
The vehicle had been stolen from Fort Erie on July 8.
As officers attempted to box in the parked vehicle, the driver then rammed two cruisers and fled the area.
Saturday, police were informed by Hamilton police that the accused had been apprehended and was in their custody.
The individual was returned to Northumberland by OPP on Monday.
Thirty-three-old Kyle Olds is charged with:
– Dangerous operation – two counts
– Flight from peace officer – two counts
– Failure to stop after accident
– Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
– Fail to comply with probation order.
The accused was held for bail to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg.
