The Belleville Police Service is improving its incident response capability by adding a second Canine Unit to its front line complement.
Constable Darrell Hatfield will handle German Shepherd Dash and the pair began work on June 28, joining Constable Jesse McInroy and German Shepherd Bax.
The additional Canine Unit was made possible by various community partners including Cobourg Development Services, Stirling Veterinary Service and Pet Valu Belleville.
Hatfield and Dash will be formally introduced to the public July 30.
