A Belleville man has been charged in connection with a sexual assault in Brighton.
On April 12, 2024, Northumberland OPP began an investigation after receiving information about a sexual assault that occurred at a Brighton residence.
Following an investigation, and assisted by the Northumberland Crime Unit, police arrested a person on Wednesday.
A 29-year-old male, from Belleville, has been charged with sexual interference, sexual assault on a person under 16 years of age and fail to comply with probation order.
The accused was held for bail to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg.
