Bryan Helmer will be known as two things in hockey circles. A long-time Hershey Bear and a long-time Wellington Duke.
He is also known for winning a lot of hardware.
The AHL Hall of Famer was named the Outstanding Executive in the league.
Helmer has guided the Bears to back-to-back Calder Cup titles, as Vice-President of Hockey Operations.
He suited up for the Wellington Dukes from 1989-1993, where he amassed 187 points in 196 regular season games, to go along with another 19 playoff games, where he grabbed 19 points.
Helmer had a six-game stint with the Belleville Bulls as well, during the ’89-’90 season.
One of his most impressive feats was graduating from Junior A hockey and immediately going to the Albany River Rats of the American Hockey League in 1993-’94.
