A local artist has won a Craft Ontario Community Award for an art installation honouring Pride Month that is currently on display at the Quinte Arts Council Gallery in Belleville.
Luisé Cisneros is a Mexican/Canadian artist born in Mexico City who currently resides in the cities of Belleville and Toronto.
Cisneros’s Ofrenda has been on display at the gallery since early June as part of the Bay of Quinte Pride celebrations.
The installation focuses on those who have been affected with the challenges and struggles for the LGBTQ+ community.
The Craft Ontario Community Awards celebrate excellence in specific craft disciplines.
The exhibit closes Friday at the QAC Cultural Hub at 36 Bridge Street East, Belleville.
