With heavy rain and isolated severe thunderstorms a possibility over the next two days in the wake of Hurricane Beryl, Quinte Conservation has issued a Water Safety Statement.
Based on forecasted amounts of 30 to 40 mm of rainfall across the Quinte watershed, widespread flooding and drainage issues are not anticipated.
Quinte Conservation advises the public to exercise caution when near rivers and waterbodies and to stay away from open and fast flowing water, culverts, dams, and unstable banks.
It is recommended to secure loose items, docks, and boats to the shoreline or remove them during these types of events.
Quinte Conservation will continue to monitor watershed conditions and provide updates as necessary.
