A Belleville high school student has won the grand prize in a Canada-wide essay-writing contest run by a television network.
Cailin (kay-lin) Mulvihill, a grade eleven student at St. Theresa’s Catholic Secondary School, won top place in the “lives that make a difference” essay contest run by A&E Canada. Her essay “True Patriot Love” outlined the impact war has on mothers of Canada’s fallen soldiers. T-V spokesperson Shelley Blaine Goodman noted that Belleville is close to C-F-B Trenton and the Highway of Heroes. Cailin received five-thousand dollars and another one-thousand for the classroom.
