Golda and Tom Lafferty are the 2025 Guardian Angels.
Wednesday at the Local Social House on Coleman Street in Belleville, officials with The Children’s Foundation announced the award recipients.
The Laffertys have supported the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign, the Children’s Safety Village, Three Oaks Women’s Shelter, Reach for Success, the Belleville General Hospital Foundation, and of course The Children’s Foundation.
They have also been on numerous boards and donated to countless teams, organizations, charitable groups, and events.
Golda tells Quinte News they do not do it for the accolades.
“We want to give back to the community. The community takes good care of us. We just want to help where we can, if we can, when we can.”
It is also not the first time they have received community accolades.
Both Tom and Golda have received Community Champion Awards from Bay of Quinte MP Ryan Williams, YMCA Peace Medals and the Rotary Club’s Paul Harris Fellowship Award for outstanding contribution to the community.
The Guardian Angels Gala will be held in March.
