Executive Director of the Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation, Wendy Warner, was awarded the Values in Action award at Quinte Health’s Board of Directors meeting on Tuesday.
The award recognizes the work of a team or individual who “helps bring Quinte Health’s values to life.”
Warner is credited with establishing the Docs by the Bay physician retention and recruitment program, developing the Kay Stafford Fund, and organizing several high-profile events and campaigns that help to raise funds for Trenton Memorial Hospital.
In a speech delivered by board member Bob Forder, it was stated that more than $41 million has been raised for medical equipment at the hospital with Warner at the helm, including TMH’s first CT scanner and its replacement 10 years later.
Other pieces of equipment brought to the hospital during that time are for breast screening, ophthalmology equipment for regional cataracts surgeries and GreenLight laser therapy for urology.
“I continue to be so impressed by, and inspired by, the generosity of the community and I really do think that we have Wendy Warner to thank for that,” Chair of the Board of Directors, Lisa O’Toole, tells Quinte News.
“She’s been tireless in building support for the foundation, for the hospitals and also for rallying support for the teams at at Quinte Health.”
President and CEO of Quinte Health, Stacey Daub, also commented on Warner winning the award.
“Not only has she brought game-changing equipment to Trenton Memorial Hospital, she’s also had a huge impact in cultivating the culture, supporting our staff and team here, and supporting the future of philanthropy in our community,” Daub tells Quinte News.
“So she is the whole package, raising money for equipment and broader community programs and building a stronger hospital and building a stronger community.”
The award comes ahead of a recent announcement by Warner that she would be retiring in November.
