A portion of Picton’s Main Street was briefly closed Tuesday closed due to a natural gas leak.
Fire crews were called just after 11 a.m. to 251 Main Street after a natural gas supply line was damaged during excavation work that was being performed at the rear side of a commercial building.
Firefighters shut down the street between Bridge and Ross streets and evacuated the area.
Enbridge Gas Utility attended the scene and stopped the gas leak at 12:20 p.m. and the area was reopened by 12:45 p.m.
No one was injured.
