Newman, Wayne…. passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Bridge Hospice in Warkworth on June 20, 2024 at the age of 84 years. Beloved husband of Dianne Newman (nee Hooper) for 63 years. Loving father to Kathy Plue (Kevin), Connie Michel (Mark) and Randall Newman (Sherri). Proud grandfather of Justin Plue (Brittany), Richelle Plue (Josh Bennet), Sawyer Michel (Nicole), Denim Robinson (Hendy), Parker Newman, Kali Newman (Tyler Hamilton) and Jodi Newman (Colin Peterson). Great grandfather to Harper Plue and Gus Michel. Wayne will be missed by his brothers Gary Newman (Ruth) and Sterling Newman (Karen). He is predeceased by parents Hayden Wesley & Francis “Mae” Newman. Wayne served on several committees in Northumberland county including. Pork producers, wheat producers, cattlemen, Trent Hills agriculture advisory and vegetable processors. As well as several provincial committees such as Ontario Pork Producers Marketing Board (17years), Ontario Federation of Agriculture (8years), Ontario Commodity Council and chair and founding Director of Toronto Stockyards Development Board. He will sadly be missed in the farming community. Respecting Wayne’s wishes, cremation will take place with a Celebration of His Life to be held at a future date.
